The former Judiciary Commissioner Abdul Rashid Sulehria, Azad Jammu, and the Kashmir Chief Electoral Commissioner wrote a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan asking him to guarantee ministers comply with the Code of Conduct for the elections to the Legislative Assembly on the 25th July.
Development is following a new social media video, which indicates that Ali Amin Gandapur, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs of AJK, has handed over a large cash package to several of his followers from Mirpur 1 in AJK.
Some individuals had come together to protest to Gandapur that he was terribly hurt by a road. They informed him they wanted to restore it with any paltry cash they could scrounge themselves. The Minister gave them instantly an Rs500,000 gift caught on film.
Ali Amin Gandapur also claimed that he was ready to offer more funding and assured locals that the road would be rehabilitated the next time he visited the region.
During their individual campaigns, other ministers made pledges of other projects in other constituencies.
The Chief Electoral Commissioner then wrote to the Primary Minister, asking him not to break the code of conduct laid out by the AJK government in writing to the federal government and the provincial government, to provide them with directions.
“It is essential to highlight that a [] disqualification of the candidate involved can lead, during an election campaign, to any breach of any article of the Code of Conduct,” the letter stated.
