Afghan government reportedly encouraged Pakistan to directly talk with TTP

Fawad Chaudhry, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, claimed the interim Afghan government had requested Pakistan to talk to the TTP.

During a post-cabinet press conference, the information minister stated that talks with the TTP will be in accordance with the Constitution.

According to the ministry of information, “TTP is not an organisation, it is a collection of groupings […]”

According to Chaudhry, the state went to war to restore peace to the country and now wants to do so through diplomacy.

The younger generation had a different perspective after seeing their fathers and grandfathers die in war, according to the information minister.

“The state must provide peace.”

The government wanted peace in places where the TTP had a foothold, and that’s “what we’re trying to accomplish,” added Chaudhry.

The communications minister said it was premature to discuss the deal because the government and TTP had agreed to a ceasefire.

“First, the truce will take effect, then we will assess how to move forward,” the information minister added.

In late Monday’s announcement that the government and the proscribed TTP had agreed to a total ceasefire as part of peace talks, the TTP issued a one-month truce starting November 9.

‘Conspiracies’ can do nothing for the opposition.

He stated the Opposition would have to wait a year or two more, and then another five years, because they had no programme and no leader.

“Conspiracies cannot obtain everything […] I would first advise the Opposition to get up and quit plotting “said he

A rising inflation will be lowered in the next two to three months, according to the information minister, and we will progress toward the election in 2023.

During the winter months, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) “group” protests against the government, according to Chaudhry.
