Adele is one step closer to achieving the prestigious EGOT status, an acronym for those who have won all four major awards in the Hollywood industry – an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

Although the British singer Adele has won 16 Grammys, an Oscar for the best original song, and an Emmy for her TV special, “Adele: One Night Only,” she has yet to win a Tony. During her recent “Carpool Karaoke” segment, Adele revealed that winning a Tony award is not on her radar due to her dislike of musicals.

In the segment, host James Corden reminded Adele that she was one Tony award away from the EGOT status, to which she jokingly replied that she’s always had the ego.

However, she quickly followed up with the statement that winning a Tony is never going to happen for her because she hates musicals. The singer further elaborated on her dislike for the genre, saying that she doesn’t need to hear everything in song all the time.

Despite her distaste for musicals, Adele has nothing but respect for the art form, acknowledging that it’s just not for her. She quipped that the EGO (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar) suits her better than the EGOT.

Aside from discussing her potential EGOT status, Adele and Corden also reminisced about the time when Corden tried to prank her with a fake news story about a wild bear on the loose. Although Adele initially claimed that no one could ever prank her, she fell for the elaborate prank, which involved park rangers warning her about the bear during an interview.
