Veteran Pakistani actor Rasheed Naz died at the age 73

A well-known actor Rasheed Naz died suddenly at the age of 73 on Monday, his family members confirmed his death. Madiha Rizvi verified the story on her Instagram account. She posted a photo of him and wrote, “Earlier this morning, our beloved Baba Rasheed Naz has died. Please recite Surah Fateha for departed soul.”

The funeral prayers for the legendary actor will be held at Charsadda Road Eid Gah at 3PM today.

Naz was born in Peshawar in 1948. He had a long and prosperous professional career that spanned more than four decades.

In 1971, he made his broadcast debut as an actor in a Pushto television drama, which launched his television career. Aik Tha Gaoon was his very first Urdu play. Namoos was his first widely performed piece. He also played a role in Pakistan’s first private television production Dasht. The well-known actor has appeared in various plays in the Pashto, Hindko, and Urdu languages.

Additionally, Naz worked on his first Pashto film, Zama Jang in 1988. in addition to Urdu projects.The actor has praised for his performances in Shoaib Mansoor’s films Khuda Ke Liye and Verna. He also appeared in the hit song Ishq Mohabbat Apnapan directed by Mansoor and starred Iman Ali.
