Action to Take Against Aerial Firing on New Year’s Eve: Usman Buzdar

A request for law and order on New Year’s Eve was made by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday to authorities around the state.

Buzdar has ordered the Inspector General (IG) police to take indiscriminate action against those responsible for aerial firing and riots on New Year’s Eve evening.

“Legal action should be taken against those who engage in aerial firing without regard to their nationality or race, and such individuals should be imprisoned.” Preventative actions should be taken by the police to prevent occurrences of aerial firings from occurring. “The regional police officers, city police officers, and district police officers should work together to develop a comprehensive strategy in this area,” the CM instructed the police officials.

Police officers should work extra hard to protect people’s lives and property on New Year’s eve, according to the chief minister, who also ordered an inquiry into one-wheeling.

In a statement, he stated that he would not accept one-wheeling at any cost, and he directed that special teams be formed to stop one-wheeling and take stern penalties against individuals implicated in the practice.

Additionally, CM Buzdar says that action against underage bikers and car drivers should be taken.

Meanwhile, Karachi’s major thoroughfares will be closed on New Year’s Eve in order to avert unpleasant situations, while locals will be permitted to attend celebrations at Sea View Hotel in the city.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) District South Zubair Nazeer Shaikh, all shops in Khadda Market, Boat Basin, and Clifton with the exception of medical stores, will close at 8 p.m.

He went on to say that citizens will be able to visit the Seaview because the roads leading to it would not be closed up.
