Punjab Health Secretary Dr. Yasmin Rashid claimed that Epsilon instances were recorded across the province at a press briefing on Friday. “We started testing and sequencing samples to learn more about them.”
The new variety was initially reported to the US Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), after a rise occurred in the cases in California in 2020. It has been deemed a variance of the problem.
Yassmin Rashid claimed that the Delta variation is more than 70% of Punjab instances. The government has started a door-to-door vaccine campaign in large cities in the province in order to reduce the increasing number of cases.
A record five hundred thousand individuals were vaccinated in Punjab on Thursday. So far, the deadly virus has killed 11,000 individuals in the area.
