A flood alert has been issued for the Hazara division

The administrator of Tarbela Dam has warned of the dam being passed over by about 150,000 to 375,000 cusecs.

Consequently, the warnings regarding a flood that would flow via the Tarbela Dam have been given.

Due to the strong flood, the dam is being opened, while simultaneously opening for the first time in the season, the auxiliary spill tunnel number five.

The administration of Tarbela Dam has also sent a letter informing Citizens in this respect to the Deputy Commissioner as well as to the other agencies concerned. The waterflow in the Indus River would range between 150,000 cusec feet and 375,000 cusec feet, according to the spokesperson for the dam administration in the next 24 hours.

The people of the neighbouring communities are advised that because of the increasing water levels the dam and shoreline will not be visited. It was warned not to allow the water approach their children or pet animals.
