In a webinar, Dr. Reza Baqir, Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), said that many commercial banks have increased the Rs. 36 billion funding for 521 projects generating roughly 850 MW of power in the renewable energy funding scheme.
According to Dr Baqir, Pakistan is facing climate change issues, and efforts to mitigate them are important. In this connection, he pointed out that the SBP established a scheme to finance renewable energy projects.
He said that the focus on financial resources is vital for fighting climate change to find resource-efficient and long-term solutions.
