32 AJK political parties have been assigned electoral symbols

Azad Jammu & Kashmir Election Commission distributed election symbols to 32 political parties registered for the AJK parliamentary elections.

AJK election commission official in Mirpur Arshad Hussein Hawaja told APP late Friday that the campaign symbol distributed among major political parties in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf AJK (PTI) (Bat Cricket – BALLA), leader of Pakistan Muslim League AJK (tiger), Jammu Kashmir Liberation League (lantern), head of AJK Jamaat-e-Islami (rock), AJK Branch of Pakistan People’s Party (arrow), Jammu Kashmir All Muslim Conference (horse) Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party (Sword), Jammu & Tehreek- e-Labaik Pakistan – AJK (crane) and others.

In addition, the AJK Election Commission also distributed election symbols to hundreds of independent candidates.

District election officials said candidates from more than 32 political parties, as well as independent candidates in all 45 constituencies (including 33 in 10 AJK districts and 12 for refugees living in Pakistan) from occupied Jammu and Kashmir, had voted. To the 53-member Azad Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the lower house of the AJK Parliament, on a direct basis for adult suffrage for a further five-year constitutional term under the Azad Jammu Kashmir Constitution Act 1974.

The remaining eight reserved seats, five for women and one each for technocrats, clerics/maschai and overseas Kashmiris, will later be filled by a 45-member electoral body, which in elections is planned to be based on direct franchise for adults. .

Elections will take place on 25 July 2021 from 8 am to 5 pm, without a break at the same time in more than 45 constituencies in the AJK region, as well as in various parts of Pakistan where refugees are from Indian-occupied Jammu. and Kashmir stays.
