KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in talks with former captain Younis Khan to give him a permanent role as national team manager.
Reliable sources have confirmed that Younis is already in talks with PCB and has discussed this with PCB officials.
PCB is in talks with Younis Khan for the coaching position of the New Zealand tour. Discussions focus on a long-term settlement, depending on its availability, ”said a source familiar with the matter.
“But these are of course ongoing discussions and things will be finalized shortly,” he added.
Younis had previously been hired as a batting advisor for the Pakistan cricket team’s tour of England this summer, where several Pakistani players hailed his presence in the locker room.
On several occasions during the tour, Pakistani batters spoke about how Younis Khan had helped them.
Khan, a former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, is the country’s top scorer with 10,099 points to his name. Representation of Pakistan in 118 tests, 265 ODI and 25 T20I.
