The government of Sindh has finally decided to end endemic car thefts in the province. According to the strategy, vehicle sales will be linked to National Database and Registry Authority (NADRA) systems.

The Department of Excise and NADRA have agreed on a strategic decision that car buyers must register their car within one month of purchasing a car. The buying process will be completed, both at buyers ‘and sellers’ end, through biometric verification.

Speaking of the development, the director general of Sindh’s tax and excise department said that sellers and buyers of NADRA centers will now participate in the completion of the purchase process. The department performs the biometric verification, after which ownership of the vehicle is transferred to the buyer.

This new strategy will help the government track cars bought and sold in the province and allow authorities to easily detect suspected cases in the event of suspicious activity.
