Payload mode is making a comeback on PUBG Mobile. According to information shared on the official Twitter account, Payload 2.0 is coming soon. While the official release date has not been confirmed, some sources claim it could arrive on October 10. If you remember, the payload mode was first introduced in October 2019. However, it was dropped earlier this year. It will also be the first major addition to the game since PUBG Mobile 1.0 was released last month.
For those who don’t know, Payload builds on the classic Battle Royale mode with the addition of heavier weapons and the ability to fly helicopters. The mode included the M3E1-A rocket launcher, MGL and M79 grenade launchers, and the RPG-7. It also included the ability to bring a deceased teammate back to life by collecting their badge and taking it to the nearest radio tower, similar to what we’ve seen in Apex Legends.
According to the leaked movie trailer, Payload 2.0 is expected to expand the previous concept with the addition of new weapons, armored vehicles and the ability to hunt enemies with remote-controlled drones. We can see the launch of a new missile similar to the M202 and a new radar system that will allow it to scan its area for vehicles. All vehicles have also been upgraded with mounted weapons including missile launchers, heavy machine guns, flamethrowers, etc. Specifically, Payload 2.0 will use the recently released Erangel 2.0 map and the Chinese version of the game (Game for Peace) already has the new mode received in beta.

Here’s everything you can expect from the Payload 2.0 update for PUBG Mobile:
Portable Radar – As mentioned above, players can use this radar anywhere. This radar helps players find vehicles including cars, helicopters and ships on the minimap, and also helps detect vehicles approaching with enemies.
UAV: The mode will also include a new UAV or unmanned aircraft. Players can summon them with an external device to take out enemies. In particular, the drone only flies in a certain direction and players can control the rocket launcher on board.
Bomb Suit – A special full body armor, the Bomb Suit can absorb a significant amount of damage while worn.
New Weapons: Two new weapons are expected to appear in Payload 2.0. The first is the AT4-A laser-guided missile, where players can use a laser to locate exactly where they want to land the missile. The second weapon is the M202 four-cylinder rocket launcher, a fast launcher capable of firing rapid succession of missiles.
New Vehicles – All vehicles are now equipped with weapons including UAZ, Dacia, buggy and pickup. These will come with flamethrowers, machine guns, rocket launchers and the ability to use these cars in the water thanks to built-in floats and propellers. There is also a new state-of-the-art machine gun helicopter for passenger use.
Special Base: The map also features new buildings with lots of loot, as well as the advanced helicopter mentioned above.
